BACKGROUND

Old City Park is where the City's first city park stood in 1876. It was the location of the city's first zoo. Browder Springs, which now flows underground, was the first water supply with wooden water main carrying water to the city. The existing buildings were relocated to Old City Park throughout North Central Texas.

The original contract included surveying, platting for park in the Cedars Park near the intersection of South St. Paul Street and Beaumont Street, site assessment and site analysis of the Old City Park site located at 1515 South Harwood Street. SWA Group inventoried existing conditions and analyzed the existing vehicular traffic, vegetation, pedestrian traffic, stormwater drainage, paved surfaces, structures above ground and utilities below ground.

On October 11, 2023, the City entered a professional services agreement for surveying and platting services at park in the Cedars Park and site assessment and analysis of the City Park site, including an inventory of structures located within the park.

On April 1, 2024, a modification to the scope of work by was requested by Supplemental Amendment No. 1. The modification included sub-surface utility examination under City Park and increased the contract by $7,300.00 from $262,840.00 to $270,140.00.
