BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service contract is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis.

This Supplemental Agreement will provide for continued maintenance and support for the automated fire station alerting system for Dallas Fire-Rescue Department (DFD), managed by the Department of Information and Technology Services. The automated announcement system integrates with the existing Computer Aided Dispatch system. The system audibly announces alerts at fire stations for calls, notifies cell phones for emergency response, opens fire station garage doors, automatically enables overhead lights at fire stations, and visually alerts stations through the light-emitting diode message reader boards.

DFD has utilized the automated fire station alerting system since 2007 to respond to requests for emergency services. This agreement will provide for maintenance and support which includes software updates, 24-hour technical support, conduction of preventative maintenance checkups, and on-site technicians when needed.
