BACKGROUND
This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a cooperative purchasing agreement is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis.
This cooperative purchasing agreement will provide turnkey fleet management services for the Dallas Police Department (DPD). This solution offers a comprehensive fleet program that replaces long-term vehicle rentals DPD currently utilizes with more cost-effective leases, while also providing an effective repair and maintenance program that will reduce vehicle downtime.
The proposed turnkey fleet management program will provide vehicle acquisition, a fuel program, fleet optimization services, and fleet disposition at the end of the lease term. Vehicle maintenance and repair are also included in the management program, with hundreds of maintenance providers at DPD's disposal across the City of Dallas and beyond. Additionally, at the conclusion of the lease term, the vendor will auction off the used vehicle, and DPD will retain any residual equity from the sale to be used towards the lease of a new replacement vehicle, thereby reducing the cost of the new vehicle.
