BACKGROUND

DPD's Traffic Unit currently conducts approximately 300 CMV inspections each year. This grant will provide DPD's CMV Squad with the ability to conduct a projected total of 3,500 CMV inspections during each of the grant's two years.

The grant is divided into three projects:

Project 1 will provide for the replacement of old, outdated, and damaged equipment, for training of the CMV Squad as to Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 CMV inspections, and for overtime pay/benefits for the CMV Squad officers.





Project 2 will focus on Hazardous Materials ("HazMat") vehicles, to keep highways safe from the dangerous materials within such vehicles. ...
