BACKGROUND

 

Chapter 39A of the Dallas City Code provides actual reasonable moving and related expense payments for businesses displaced by the City of Dallas in conjunction with its real property acquisition activities.

 

On September 25, 2024, the City Council authorized the acquisition of real property known as 6000 Botham Jean Boulevard, Dallas, Texas for the Dallas Floodway Extension Project by Resolution No. 24-2677.

 

Jerry Armstrong, Jr., was displaced as a direct result of this property acquisition and qualifies for an actual reasonable moving and related expense-nonresidential payment of $145,000.00.

 

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

On September 25, 2024, the City Council authorized the acquisition from Jerry Armstrong, Jr., of approximately 5.383 acres of industrially improved land located near the intersection Botham Jean Boulevard and South Central Expressway for the Dallas Floodway Extension Project by Resolution No. 24-2677.
