BACKGROUND

On September 12, 2024, the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) of the North Central Texas Council of Governments approved the allocation of federal funding to construct a segment of the new four-lane roadway identified as Copenhagen Avenue extending from East Belt Line Road to south of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) right-of-way in the City of Dallas ("Project").

On January 22, 2025, the City Council authorized the Notice of Intent to establish Quiet Zones along DART's Silver Line corridor encompassing 11 railroad crossings, which included a crossing at the future Copenhagen Avenue in the Cypress Waters Development by Resolution No. 25-0208. The City Council subsequently authorized the Notice of Establishment for the same Quiet Zones on April 23, 2025, by Resolution No. 25-0641.

The future Copenhagen Avenue will cross the DART Silver Line rail line leading into the Cypress Waters Station and will support the establishment of the Quiet Zones in this area.
