Title
Authorize Amendment No. 2 to the Interlocal Agreement with Dallas County for the purpose of design and construction of the Chalk Hill Trail Project to designate (1) Phase 1 of the Project as located from the intersection of Cockrell Hill Road and Illinois Avenue to Ginger Avenue; and (2) Phase 2 of the Project as located from Ginger Avenue to Chalk Hill Road - Financing: No cost consideration to the City (see Fiscal Information)

BACKGROUND
The City of Dallas and Dallas County are partnering to develop the approximately 2.5-mile Chalk Hill Trail from the southern trail terminus at the intersection of Cockrell Hill Road and Illinois Avenue to the northern trail terminus at Chalk Hill Road. The agreement consists of the design and construction of a hike and bike trail. The project will be executed in two phases. Should portions of the trail require the licenses from Oncor to accommodate the Project said licenses also be subject to review and approval by the Park Board.
The total estimated project cost for Phase 1 and 2 of the Project is $10,707,122.03 which shall be funded in an amount of $7,225,128.55 by the County, an amount not to exceed $69,440.48 by the City - an amount that was previously authorized by Amendment No. 1 funded by the 2006 City bond program-and an amount not to exceed $3,412,553.00 by TxDOT for Chalk Hill Trail Phase 1 construction . The project lead is Dallas County. Upon completion and acceptance of phase 1 of the project the City shall own and maintain the hike and bike trail.
This action does not require the City to provide any additional funds, only affirming a continued commitment of City Project funds already authorized by prior agreement and amendment.
