SUBJECT

Title
Authorize a three-year master agreement for the purchase of laboratory supplies for the Dallas Water Utilities Department - IDEXX DISTRIBUTION INC, sole source - Estimated amount of $440,101.76 - Financing: Dallas Water Utilities Fund ($393,300.20) and Stormwater Drainage Management Fund ($46,801.56)

Body
BACKGROUND

This action does not authorize or encumber funding. The master agreement establishes pre-negotiated pricing for a specified period of time. Actual expenditure will occur only when products/goods are requested and are supported by available departmental appropriations. The estimated amount represents the maximum anticipated value based on all potential usage scenarios during the contract term and is provided for planning purposes only. Actual expenditures may vary significantly and will be driven by operational needs. For reference, the City's average annual expenditure for these services over the past three years has been approximately $100,700.00 per year.

This master agreement will provide for the purchase of IDEXX laboratory supplies for the Dallas Water Utilities Department (DWU). DWU conducts several hundred tests on a monthly basis to help ensure clean, safe, dependable drinking water, and effective wastewater treatment. Testing is necessary to comply with State regulatory requirements. This agreement will allow the DWU flexibility to purchase newly standardized laboratory supplies as required by governing regulatory agencies.
