BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service price agreement is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis according to annual budgetary appropriations. The estimated amount is intended as guidance rather than a cap on spending under the agreement, so that actual need combined with the amount budgeted will determine the amount spent under this agreement.

This service price agreement will allow for specialized training for Dallas Fire-Rescue Department (DFD) from Texas A & M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), a state agency.

DFD's Special Operation Bureau includes a highly specialized Urban Search and Rescue tactical operation division that require specific training for certification. Training areas include structural collapse, ropes rescue, confined space, trench rescue, technical search, vehicle machinery, logistic specialist, medical specialist, and task force leadership.

TEEX operates a comprehensive emergency preparedness and infrastructure training campus, which includes facilities for hands-on training. Courses are conducted by certified instructors, specializing in their respective fields. TEEX offers on-site, customized training and services to municipalities and public agencies across the globe.
