BACKGROUND

This action will authorize a professional services contract with Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc. for the engineering evaluation and design of storm drainage and erosion control improvements at four locations. Dallas Water Utilities has identified various properties in the City of Dallas impacted by stream erosion and flooding. Engineering evaluations and design improvements will be completed under this contract for 2412 Kiest Boulevard, Cedar Creek Bridge at Clarendon Drive, Cedar Creek Bridge at Moore Street, and 3445, 3449, 3605, 3621 Holliday Road.

The services provided for this contract include project management, topographic and boundary surveys, easement document preparation, subsurface utility exploration, geotechnical investigations, structural analysis, drainage studies including hydrologic and hydraulic stream and storm drain system modeling, and development of conceptual and final construction plans and special specifications. Initial engineering services for Cedar Creek Bridge at Clarendon and Cedar Creek Bridge at Moore include a preliminary design report to determine potential drainage improvement alternatives. Once a preferred alternative is selected, a future supplemental agreement will need to be authorized to complete the design and prepare construction plans.
