Authorize a six-month service contract to purchase and install 19,860 square feet of synthetic/artificial turf and sand infill at Hillcrest Village for the Park & Recreation Department with Strickly Green Grass, LLC. dba SYNLawn Dallas through the Sourcewell Cooperative Agreement - Not to exceed $213,831.18 - Financing: General Fund

Body
BACKGROUND

This service contract will be used to purchase and install 19,860 square feet of synthetic/artificial turf and sand infill at Hillcrest Village located at 6959 Arapaho Road. This purchase will assist the City in its facility-specific condition monitoring, predictive, and preventative maintenance programs.

The scope of work will include the removal and disposal of existing sod and the replacement & installation of synthetic/artificial turf. In addition, the project will allow for the inspection and repair of existing drainage systems, bender board perimeter installation, layering of crushed aggregate base material and the pouring of new sand infill.

Selecting synthetic/artificial turf provides for low maintenance requirements, durability and water conservation benefits. Artificial turf also offers a permanently uniformed landscape, maintains its vibrant color and thickness year-round and is eco, pet and kid friendly.

The Sourcewell Cooperative Agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter F, Chapter 271, Texas Local Government Code. Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.
