Request

1. A Courtesy Review to restore main structure to original single-family architecture.

2. A Courtesy Review to construct a rear carport.

Applicant Anne-Marie Starr

Application Filed 7/3/2026

Staff Recommendation

Courtesy Review - no action required. That the request to restore main structure to original single-family architecture and construct a rear carport be conceptually approved with the understanding that the final design, as well as associated site plans, elevations, renderings, and details, are to be submitted for Landmark Commission review.

Task Force Recommendation

That the request to restore main structure to original single-family architecture and construct a rear carport be denied without prejudice with the following comments/recommendations:  Removal of non-historic structures and center window on front is approved.

1.                     Elevations of the sides and rear of the house are needed.  What is proposed to replace the doors on the second floor once the stairs are removed?

2.                     Need window survey with measurements.

3.                     Proposed porch should match the house to the right at 4839 Junius with respect to massing of columns, header beam.  Base of columns should be brick,

4.                     Carport columns should be wrapped with architectural details similar to front porch columns.  Header needed on carport.

5.                     Need details/ measurements on elements and materials list.

**NOTE: If applicant would like to remove one of the front doors, Dr. Patricia Simon, Task Force Chair, volunteers to do needed research to prove that this was originally a single-family home.
