Authorize a professional engineering services contract with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for the design of pedestrian, geometric, and traffic signal improvements along Lakeland Drive from Ferguson Road to Eustis Avenue and at the intersection of West Colorado Boulevard and North Tyler Street/Sylvan Avenue - Not to exceed $295,000.00 - Financing: Street and Transportation Funds ($250,000.00) and General Fund ($45,000.00)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a professional engineering services contract with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for the design of transportation improvements at two identified project locations.
The project scope includes the design of sidewalk and Americans with Disabilities Act ramp improvements along Lakeland Drive from Ferguson Road to Eustis Avenue as well as pedestrian, geometric, traffic signal, and signing/striping improvements at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Tyler Street/Sylvan Avenue.
On February 22, 2023, the City of Dallas issued a Request for Qualifications CIZ23-AVI-2097 for architectural and engineering consulting services and subsequent Request for Proposals to shortlisted firms seeking professional services for four projects, which included this project. The City received five proposals for this project from interested firms.
Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. was selected by the review committee as the most highly qualified proposer to provide professional services for this project.
