Body

BACKGROUND

On March 18, 2026, the New York Times published an article citing significant evidence that Mr. Chavez groomed and sexually abused girls who worked in the United Farm Workers movement. In light of these allegations, we believe it is imperative remove Cesar E. Chavez from the list holiday of city holidays in Chapter 34 of the Dallas City Code and to return the name of this holiday to Labor Day.
