BACKGROUND

This cooperative purchasing agreement will provide software licenses for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Operating System which standardizes software development and deployment with repeatable, flexible, scalable, and automated functionality for imaging, patch-management, and backup processes. Red Hat satellite server upgrade will organize the life-cycle management by using organizations as principal division units. Organizations isolate content for groups of hosts with specific requirements and administration tasks.

The Texas Department of Information Resources cooperative agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter F, Chapter 271, Texas Local Government Code. Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code which authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.
