Staff Recommendation
That the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to remodel existing porch and porte cochere columns into craftsman style columns be approved in accordance with plans and specifications submitted on August 21, 2026, with a finding of fact that the work is appropriate to both the structure and the district and would not have an adverse effect. The proposed work is, therefore, consistent with preservation criteria Sec. 51P-87-111(a)(9)(C) and City Code Section 51A-4.501(g)(6)(C)(i) for contributing structures; and/or the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Rehabilitation.
Task Force Recommendation
Approve the columns but to consider removing the AI rendering from the application and include an accurate rendering depicting the correct dimensions and to ensure the color and availability of the chosen brick.
