Body

BACKGROUND

This action will authorize the rejection of the five bids received for solicitation CIZ24-PBW-3095 - the Intergovernmental Partnership Project - Cockrell Hill Road from La Reunion Parkway to Singleton Boulevard for construction of a grade separation over the Union Pacific Railroad track for the Department of Public Works. The Department of Public Works will review and modify the specifications and plans before re-advertisement.

The solicitation was opened to the public from June 26, 2024 through July 26, 2024. Five sealed bids were received and were open on July 19, 2024.

After opening of the bids, the Department of Public Works received a letter of protest from one of the bidders noting that there were discrepancies in certain published documents. Staff consulted with the City Attorney’s Office; and it was determined that it was in the best interest of the city to reject all bids, revise the bid documents, and re-advertise to ensure that the updated bid documents are clear and without ambiguity.
