Staff Recommendation
That the request to remodel existing home, due to a house fire, including: replacing wood windows with aluminum 1 over 1 windows, replacing mixed siding with all #117 siding, and repainting the siding SW 2839 “Roycroft Copper Red” and the trim SW 2834 “Birdseye Maple” be approved in accordance with specifications submitted on September 10, 2026 with the condition that the existing wood windows be repaired if feasible, and if replaced, that they be all-wood windows to exactly match the original in size, material and configuration. Implementation of the recommended condition would allow the proposed work to meet City Code Section 51A-4.501 (g)(6)(C)(i) for contributing structures; and/or the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Rehabilitation.
Task Force Recommendation
Approve with the condition that the siding be #117 siding, the roof shingles color be “Pewter Gray,” and to consider a lighter trim color like “White Hyacinth.”
