Staff Recommendation

That the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a new accessory building (pool house) in the rear yard be approved in accordance with the finding of fact that the proposed work is compatible with the scale, shape, roof form, materials, detailing, and color of the main building.  The proposed work is, therefore, consistent with preservation criteria Sec.51P-97.111(c)(1)(A); City Code Section 51A-4.501(g)(6)(C)(i) for contributing structures; and/or the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Setting (District/Neighborhood).

Task Force Recommendation

That the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a new accessory building (pool house) in the rear yard be approved with the conditions that the windows are all wood and that the roof form be compatible with the main building (dormer not be higher than the roof).
