BACKGROUND

On October 9, 2024, the City of Dallas released Request for Qualifications CIZ24-PBW-3124 to provide professional services, as described in Section II, Project Description, related to Streets, Alleys, Sidewalks, Trails, Special Services including Traffic Signals, Street Lighting/Pedestrian Lighting, Permanent Traffic Signs, Bicycle Lane Design, Traffic Studies, Data Gathering, Permanent Paving Markings, Intersection Improvements, and Railroad Quiet Zones Establishment Process in various locations within the City of Dallas.

This action will authorize a professional engineering services contract with Westwood Professional Services, Inc for the design of following projects:

Project Council District

North Beckley Avenue from Singleton Boulevard to West 12th Street 1, 6
Second Avenue from Fitzhugh Avenue to US 175 5, 7
Gaston Avenue from Washington Avenue to Paulus Avenue 2, 14





These corridors are on the Vision Zero High Injury Network (HIN). The HIN identifies the city streets that account for a disproportionate number of fatal and severe crashes. To have the greatest impact on reaching the City's Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and reducing severe injuries, these streets should be prioritized in Vision Zero efforts.
