Body

BACKGROUND

Ordinance No. 19983 established the Dallas Citizens Police Review Board and adopted a document titled “City Manager’s Proposals for Improvement of the Police Department.”

The Dallas Citizens Police Review Board was re-established as the Community Police Oversight Board by Ordinance No. 31192 on April 24, 2019.

Upon review, it was determined the recommendations in the City Manager’s Proposals for Improvement of the Police Department have either been achieved or are outdated. The proposed ordinance repeals these 1988 policy recommendations.
