BACKGROUND
On January 21, 2025, the Ad Hoc Committee on Administrative Affairs (Committee) had discussions on whether to use an existing contract or make a recommendation to the full City Council to direct the City Manager to start the procurement process for human resources consultant services for engage a new performance management consultant to facilitate the performance evaluations of City Council - appointed positions (City Attorney, City Secretary, City Manager, City Auditor, and Inspector General).
Additionally, members of the Government Performance and Financial Management Committee (GPFM) have expressed their desire to not utilize an existing human resources consultant for the purpose of conducting the performance evaluation of the City Auditor. They expressed their preference to procure and contract with a new vendor for this purpose.
A majority of the Committee voted to recommend that the City Council direct the City Manager to start the procurement process for a human resources consultant services for performance evaluations of City Council - appointed positions.
