BACKGROUND

This grant award will fund two Outreach & Advocacy Specialist positions for the Dallas Police Department (DPD). The specialists will work with RIGHT Care Team to provide social referrals when mental health or social needs are identified, rather than proceeding with emergency detention for the individual and taking the individual to Dallas County Parkland Memorial Hospital for psychiatric monitoring.
