Authorize (1) the rejection of bids for a construction services contract for the Five Mile Infrastructure Improvements Package A - Paving and Drainage Improvements (list attached to the Agenda Information Sheet); and (2) the re-advertisement for new bids - Financing: No cost consideration to the City

BACKGROUND
Five Mile Infrastructure Improvements Package A - Paving and Drainage Improvements was publicly advertised for two consecutive weeks on June 28, 2023, and July 5, 2023. Two sealed bids were received and opened on Friday, August 25, 2023. The bids received from Tiseo Paving Co., in the amount of $18,551,252.80 and SYB Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $18,723,789.19 respectively significantly exceeds the project budget. Consequently, it is necessary to reject the bids received and re-advertise the project for new competitive bids.
This action will authorize the rejection of bids received for the Five Mile Infrastructure Improvements Package A - Paving and Drainage Improvements, and the re-advertisement for new competitive bids. The construction award is anticipated for February 21, 2024.
