BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service price agreement is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis according to annual budgetary appropriations. The estimated amount is intended as guidance rather than a cap on spending under the agreement, so that actual need combined with the amount budgeted will determine the amount spent under this agreement.

This service price agreement will provide waste collection and disposal services, from front-load and roll-off containers, and compactors at various city facilities such as Dallas Love Field, Union Station, City Hall, and Service Centers. Additionally, community recycling containers at various partner locations will also receive service. Rental maintenance and cleaning of approximately 50 containers of various sizes to ensure compliance with City Code Section 18-50 (6).

Chapter 363 of the Health & Safety Code establishes the state's policy to "safeguard the health, general welfare, and physical property of the people and to protect the environment by promoting the reduction of solid waste generation and the proper management of solid waste."
