Title
Authorize a three-year cooperative purchasing agreement for cybersecurity products, firewall support, comprehensive maintenance and support, and advanced threat prevention licenses for the Department of Information and Technology Services with Netsync Network Solutions, Inc. through the Texas Department of Information Resources Cooperative Agreement Contract No. DIR-CPO-4866 - Not to exceed $171,002.00 - Financing: Data Services Fund (subject to annual appropriations)

Body
BACKGROUND

This cooperative purchasing agreement will provide firewall support and threat prevention licenses for the devices that allow the monitoring of incoming traffic for malicious cyber actors. Additional protection will be provided because the firewalls utilize an architecture that allows traffic inspection at a higher rate than either on-prem or via cloud.

Palo Alto firewalls will provide the City of Dallas with advanced security features, comprehensive threat prevention, centralized management, and integration with other security components, which key benefits will all work together to enhance network security and intensify the level of risk management for the City of Dallas.

The Texas Department of Information Resources cooperative agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, and by Subchapter F, Chapter 271, of the Texas Local Government Code. Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.
