BACKGROUND

This item, on behalf of the Department of Information and Technology Services, authorizes (1) the option to an existing license with American Towers, LLC to exercise the first of two, five-year renewal options for approximately 14,895 square feet of land and tower space located at 2833 Remond Drive for the period March 10, 2024 through March 9, 2029; and (2) the monthly license fee for the period November 1, 2024 through March 9, 2029. The extension will provide for the continued use as a communications tower and primary backup radio communications site for Dallas Police Department and Dallas Fire-Rescue Department radio channels for the Information and Technology Services.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

On October 23, 2013, the City Council authorized a ten-year License Agreement by Resolution No. 13-1849.

On June 12, 2019, the City Council authorized a Second Amendment to the License Agreement by Resolution No. 19-0877.
