BACKGROUND

On February 1, 2025, Ferguson Road Initiative, a Texas nonprofit corporation, representing owners of real property located within the boundaries of the proposed District, submitted petitions to the City of Dallas requesting the creation of the District and approval of the District's Service Plan for a seven-year term effective January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2032, in accordance with the Act.

The City staff reviewed the petitions and verified that owners of record representing the appraised value and the land area of real property in the District liable for assessment had signed the petitions, thereby meeting the minimum requirements for creation set in the Act but falling below the City's petition approval threshold from owners.
