BACKGROUND

On August 22, 2022, the Dallas area experienced torrential rainstorms that caused damage to the Dallas Museum of Art. The rain caused the Reves Gallery courtyard drains to be overcome and water to flood into the Reves Gallery. Subsequently, due to the gallery raised floor assembly, the water entering the space dropped below the floor and ran under it spreading throughout the Reves Gallery. The water beneath the floor then descended into the C3 Gallery below through various floor penetrations, including but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building seams. In response, cleanup and bulk water extraction was started and completed in the areas. The water damaged building components including, but not limited to, floors, walls, ceilings, and other building components contained within, were assessed, and removed as required throughout the C3 and Reves Galleries in coordination with the performance of mold remediation.
