BACKGROUND
The City Manager's Office reviewed the Planning and Urban Design Department and the Development Services Department, and the various business units and service delivery processes of each. During this review, it was determined that reorganizing all land use, permitting, planning and zoning functions into one department would provide greater efficiencies and stronger alignment of efforts. The new combined department will be known as the Planning and Development Department.
