Authorize a professional engineering services contract with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for the design of pedestrian, bicycle, geometric, and landscaping improvements in the Elmwood Neighborhood along South Edgefield Avenue from Lebanon Avenue to West Illinois Avenue - Not to exceed $203,650.00 - Financing: Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Fund)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a professional engineering services contract with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for the design of multi-modal improvements in the Elmwood Neighborhood along South Edgefield Avenue from Lebanon Avenue to West Illinois Avenue. The project scope includes the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for sidewalk, pedestrian crossing, geometric roadway, bike lane, striping, and signage improvements.
On February 22, 2023, the City of Dallas issued a Request for Qualifications CIZ23-AVI-2097 for architectural and engineering consulting services and subsequent Request for Proposals to shortlisted firms seeking professional services for four projects, which included this project. The City received three proposals for this project from interested firms.
Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. was selected by the review committee as the most highly qualified proposer to provide professional services for this project.
