BACKGROUND
Plaintiff State Farm County Mutual Insurance Company of Texas filed a lawsuit against the City of Dallas, seeking compensation for property damage sustained by its insured, Derek Simms, in a motor vehicle accident on December 4, 2024, involving a Dallas Water Utilities Department employee operating a city-owned vehicle. The City and State Farm have reached a proposed settlement of the claim, subject to City Council approval. State Farm County Mutual Insurance Company of Texas is represented by Blake Landon and Carpenter & Schumacher, P.C.
