BACKGROUND

 

This item authorizes (1) the conveyance of a tract of land; and (2) the execution of a Possession and Use Agreement of approximately 7,948 square feet of City-owned land to the State of Texas located near the intersection of Cadiz and Hotel Streets for the Interstate Highway 30 Construction Project. The State of Texas is an entity with the power of eminent domain. The City may sell or exchange its property to a governmental entity that has the power of eminent domain without complying with the notice and bid requirements pursuant to Chapter 272 of the Local Government Code. The purchase price is based on an independent appraisal.
