BACKGROUND
On July 9, 2025, the City advertised a Request for Competitive Sealed Proposal (RFCSP) for the construction of the Forest Audelia Recreation Center Project with bids due August 22, 2025. An in-person pre-proposal conference was held on July 23, 2025, with 41 proposers in attendance.
In response to the advertisement, the Office of Procurement Services received submittals from nineteen firms on August 29, 2025. The bid procurement process complied with the City's Administrative Directive 4-05: Contracting Policy, Section 10 Procurement Processes.
The Forest Audelia Recreation Center Project is the renovation of an existing retail mall building into a new 10,000 square foot recreation center that will serve the Forest Audelia Community. The new recreation center will include 3 multi-purpose rooms, a kitchen, an activity room, a public safety office, a tech center, fitness room and boxing gym. This facility will also have access to an existing boxing gym that will be integrated into the new recreation center.
This action will authorize a construction services contract with SCI Construction, Ltd., best value proposer of nineteen, for the construction of the Forest Audelia Recreation Center.
