Authorize an increase in the construction services contract with Tegrity Contractors, Inc. for additional work associated with the expansion, renovation, and site improvements for the Dallas Water Utilities Water Delivery Service Center located at 4120 Scottsdale Drive - Not to exceed $1,450,220.68, from $17,082,920.00 to $18,533,140.68 - Financing: Water Construction Fund

BACKGROUND
On December 14, 2022, the City Council authorized a construction services contract with Tegrity Contractors, Inc. for the construction of the Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) Water Delivery Service Center located at 4120 Scottsdale Drive. The Service Center provides emergency response, material warehousing, vehicle and equipment storage and parking, and administrative offices for oversight of water delivery operations. The project includes a 16,000 square foot addition and renovation of 18,556 square feet of existing facilities that will be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Interiors Certified and Americans with Disabilities Act Compliant. The Center will include offices, training/conference rooms, electrical/mechanical shops, common areas and site improvements of 476,900 square feet for parking and security.
An increase in the construction services contract was authorized on April 10, 2024, to replace the aged water and wastewater mains in Scottsdale Drive as a change order to the existing contract. After award of the contract, it was determined that the mains should be replaced as part of the construction to improve functionality of the water and wastewater systems, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize service interruptions.
