Authorize an application from the Texas Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division (Grant No. 6003001), in the amount of $5,000,000.00 for the Dallas Police Department Law Enforcement Training Center at the University of North Texas at Dallas for the construction and implementation of a new training facility located at 7300 University Hills Boulevard - Financing: No cost consideration to the City

BACKGROUND
This public-private partnership builds upon the City of Dallas' ongoing collaboration with the State of Texas through grant funding and with the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD) to advance law enforcement training through a shared commitment among state government, local government, and a public university. The partnership will provide the City of Dallas with a modern, state-of-the-art law enforcement training facility that enhances the education and professional development of both recruit and incumbent police officers. The new facility will support twenty-first century policing strategies, evidence-based training techniques, and opportunities for collaboration with community leaders, academic partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen public safety and advance excellence in law enforcement training and education.
This action will authorize an application from the Texas Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division (Grant No. 6003001), in the amount of $5,000,000.00 for the Dallas Police Department Law Enforcement Training Center (DPD LETC) at the University of North Texas at Dallas (UNTD) for the construction and implementation of a new training facility located at 7300 University Hills Boulevard.
