BACKGROUND
The FIFA World Cup 2026(tm) is the largest global sporting event in the world and will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The North Texas region will serve as a central hub for tournament activities, with Arlington's stadium hosting nine matches-more than any other host venue-including group stage matches, knockout rounds, and a semifinal.
Although matches will be played in Arlington, the City of Dallas will play a critical role as the primary host city for international visitors, media, and fan experiences. The region is expected to welcome millions of visitors from around the world, generating significant economic activity and global visibility for Dallas and surrounding communities.
A key component of Dallas' role is hosting the FIFA World Cup International Broadcast Center (IBC) at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The IBC will serve as the global media headquarters for the tournament, accommodating approximately 2,000 journalists and broadcasters who will deliver coverage of matches to billions of viewers worldwide.
In addition, Dallas will host the official FIFA Fan Festival at Fair Park, which will serve as the central gathering place for fans throughout the tournament.
