BACKGROUND

This cooperative purchasing agreement will allow the City to continue using CrowdStrike, an endpoint detection and response cybersecurity service, to protect the City's laptops, desktops, and servers from online threats. CrowdStrike helps stop attacks like phishing emails, malware, and hackers trying to exploit vulnerabilities in our systems.

This is cloud-based solution, and will not require the City to maintain on-premise hardware. Everything is managed online by security experts ensuring we have up-to-date protection to enhance security operations.

The Texas Department of Information Resources cooperative agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter F, Chapter 271, Texas Local Government Code. Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code which authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
