BACKGROUND
The 2006 and 2012 Bond Programs provided funding for storm drainage and flood management projects, including funds necessary for the construction of the Able Pump Station and sump improvements. These improvements included the construction of Cadiz Street and Riverfront Boulevard bridges to improve conveyance and connectivity between the interior drainage sumps that feed the Able Pump Station. The Able Pump Station has been completed and provides 100-year flood protection for a large industrial and commercial area in Dallas. Remaining improvements under construction include the completion of three bridge projects at Cadiz Street and Riverfront Boulevard.
On October 12, 2022, the City Council authorized a construction contract with Ragle, Inc. for the construction of Cadiz Street and Riverfront Boulevard bridge improvements and associated water and wastewater relocations. The project includes the replacement of existing reinforced concrete box culverts with three new roadway bridges. The first two bridges are located between Sump Ponds six and seven and Ponds four and five along South Riverfront Boulevard.
