BACKGROUND
On August 28, 2024, the City of Dallas accepted an application for a ceremonial street topper on Ross Avenue and Houston Street & Ross Avenue and Record Street.
On October 4, 2024, notification signs were put up on Ross Avenue and Houston Street & Ross Avenue and Record Street in accordance with Section 51A-9.503(b) of the Dallas Development Code.
On October 4, 2024, notices were sent to 6 property owners which abut the streets notifying of the proposed hearing of the Ceremonial Street Name request before the City Council on October 23, 2024, in accordance with Section 51A-9.503(b) of the Dallas Development Code. The newspaper notices for October 23, 2024, City Council hearing was published on October 4, 2024.
Max Glauben passed away on April 28, 2022, at the age of 94. He endured great tragedy early in life, losing his parents and younger brother, who were murdered by the Nazis. Max dedicated his life to sharing his story and raising awareness about the Holocaust.
As a co-founder of the Dallas Holocaust Museum, Max's efforts inspired countless individuals and educated many about the horrors of the Holocaust. His experiences fueled a lifetime of humanitarian work, making a significant impact on the lives he touched.
