BACKGROUND
Dallas City Charter Chapter IXA, Sec. 1 provides for the appointment of an inspector general, who holds office for a period of two years and thereafter until a successor is appointed, unless sooner discharged by the council. The appointment of the inspector general does not include a written contract of employment.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On June 9, 2025, and June 10, 2025, the City Council conducted interviews of potential candidates for the position of inspector general.
