Title
An ordinance amending Ordinance No. (number), previously approved on (appropriate date), authorizing amendments to the Chapter 1, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport’s Code of Rules and Regulations, in accordance with Section 1-8 to provide for fines consistent with state law, including fines of up to $500.00 for violations of the Airport’s rules and regulations, except for violations relating to fire safety, public health and sanitation, or the dumping of refuse, for which the maximum fine is $2,000.00, and except when another fine is fixed by state law - Financing: No cost consideration to the City

BACKGROUND
DFW Airport is requesting that the Owner Cities approve an amendment to Appendix I of the DFW Airport Code of Rules and Regulations to reduce the posted speed limit on portions of International Parkway.
The proposed amendment would reduce the speed limit on blocks 1500 through 3400, both northbound and southbound, from 55 mph to 45 mph.
DFW Airport is proposing the reduction to enhance safety within the high-density terminal area. The item was briefed and approved by the DFW Airport Board on August 6, 2026. Approval by the City Councils of Dallas and Fort Worth is required under the Contract and Agreement governing DFW Airport for amendments to the Airport’s Code of Rules and Regulations.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On August 6, 2026, the DFW Board was briefed on the “International Parkway Speed Limit - Code item” and approved it.
