BACKGROUND

 

This item, on behalf of the Dallas Water Utilities Department, authorizes a five-year lease agreement with two five-year renewal options with Eugene Bragg Smith, Jr. Trust dba E-Bar-S Ranch, for approximately 275 acres of City-owned land in Dallas and Kaufman Counties.  This lease will provide for continued use for agricultural purposes. 

 

The cost of maintaining, securing and providing general upkeep of the Premises, in support of its use as part of the watershed for the Lake Ray Hubbard reservoir, is considered in the calculation of the Annual Rental Payment. Such upkeep shall include, but is not limited to, the installation of security fencing and security gates, disposing of debris, clearing the land of shrubs and trees and repairing levees as needed.

 

The lease will begin on January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2030.
