BACKGROUND

The 2024 Dallas Bond Program was approved by voters on May 4, 2024. The Bottom Phase III Partnership Project (PB24Y087) is included in the 2024 bond program (Proposition A) under the "Partnership Projects - Prospective" category with a 20% local match of $917,000.00 and requiring 80% match from other sources.

Dedicating $4,200,000.00 of 2017 General Obligation Bond Funds from the City Council District 4 discretionary allocation of Proposition I (economic development/housing proposition) will enable the City's Department of Transportation and Public Works to commence implementation of the project (i.e. engineering design).

Prior bond programs and external funding have supported previous phases of work (Phases I and II) to improve the infrastructure in The Bottom neighborhood. The Bottom Phase III Project will complete the remaining infrastructure improvements needed for the neighborhood. Design and construction of this project will further promote economic development and housing in The Bottom neighborhood.
