BACKGROUND
The Department of Aviation has pursued various development opportunities at Dallas Executive Airport (“Airport”), including both aeronautical and non-aeronautical development. Hampton Hospitality Limited Partnership approached the Department of Aviation with a proposal to lease available Airport property for the development of a new hotel.
The proposed lease includes a minimum capital investment of $7,000,000.00 for the construction and development of an approximately 87 room hotel. The proposed leased premises consist of approximately 168,142 square feet (3.86 acres) of undeveloped land at the Airport along Hampton Drive. The project assumes all required site preparation costs and utility infrastructure costs, which will be reimbursed by the Department of Aviation through a development agreement in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000.00 upon issuance of a certificate of occupancy.
