BACKGROUND
Plaintiffs Shelly Aviles and Oswaldo Ramirez Martinez filed a lawsuit against the City of Dallas, seeking compensation for alleged bodily injuries and other damages sustained in a motor vehicle accident on April 10, 2023, involving a Dallas Water Utilities employee operating a city-owned vehicle. The City and Plaintiffs have reached a proposed settlement of their claims, subject to City Council approval. Plaintiffs are represented by Andrew Vrankovic and Ben Abbott and Associates.

A confidential memorandum regarding this matter will be provided to the City Council on April 3, 2026.
