Body
BACKGROUND
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is administering the 2025 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program Call for Projects making approximately $250,000,000.00 available in federal funds to communities state-wide. The program provides funding to plan for and construct a variety of alternative transportation projects that improve safety and mobility for non-motorized travelers and mitigate congestion.
The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), in coordination with the North Central Texas Council of Governments, intends to submit an application to TxDOT's Call for Projects to construct the remaining unfunded sections of the Cotton Belt Trail in the North Lake (Cypress Waters) area of Dallas, the City of Coppell, City of Carrollton, and Town of Addison providing a critical link in the overall Cotton Belt Trail corridor project that is pending construction. A resolution in support of the application is required by TxDOT from the participating cities.
The deadline for applications is June 20, 2025.
