An ordinance amending Chapter 34, “Personnel Rules” of the City Council Code by amending Sec. 34-9 and 34-25; removing holiday pay for temporary employees - Financing: No cost consideration to the City (see Fiscal Information)

BACKGROUND
The Department of Human Resources and the City Attorney's Office reviewed and modified Chapter 34 of the Dallas City Code (City of Dallas Personnel Rules) to address outdated and/or obsolete information, changes to federal and state laws, and changes to updated City processes and procedures.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On November 9, 2022, the City Council authorized paid holidays for temporary employees by Resolution No. 22-1671.
FISCAL INFORMATION
No cost consideration to the City. Estimated $380,000 cost avoidance. This was considered in the FY 2024-25 Budget.
