BACKGROUND
On September 11, 2019, a professional services contract with Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers, Inc. was authorized by Administrative Action to evaluate two areas and recommend storm drainage improvements. The two areas include Parrish Branch at East Wheatland Road and South Branch at Louisiana Avenue as identified in a previous Floodplain Management report. Nathan D. Maier has completed their evaluation and determined that drainage improvements are necessary for Parrish Branch at East Wheatland Road, but no improvements are recommended for South Branch at Louisiana Avenue at this time.
This action will authorize a Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the professional services contract with Nathan D. Maier Consulting Engineers, Inc. for additional engineering services to develop construction plans and specifications for the recommended improvements along Parrish Branch at East Wheatland Road. The proposed improvements will include the replacement of two existing 54-inch corrugated metal pipes with box culverts and headwalls to provide 100-year flood protection with adequate freeboard. The limits of the project will include the drainage crossing at East Wheatland Road and approximately 150-feet upstream and downstream of the proposed culvert improvements.
