Authorize the (1) acceptance of a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration through Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) (Agreement No. CSJ 0047-07-230, etc., CFDA No. 20.205) in the amount of $282,483.75, to provide cost reimbursement for material and labor costs incurred by the City for intersection and traffic signal improvements at four locations: U.S. Highway 75 and Forest Lane, U.S. Highway 75 and Walnut Hill Lane, State Loop 12 and Military Parkway, and Interstate Highway 635 and Inwood Road; (2) establishment of appropriations in the amount of $282,483.75 in the TxDOT Traffic Signal Improvement at Four Locations-HSIP Project Fund; (3) receipt and deposit of funds in the amount of $282,483.75 in the TxDOT Traffic Signal Improvement at Four Locations-HSIP Project Fund; and (4) execution of the Interlocal Agreement and all terms, conditions, and documents required by the agreement - Total amount of $282,483.75 - Financing: Texas Department of Transportation Grant Funds

BACKGROUND
The City of Dallas was awarded grant funding totaling $8 million from the 2016 HSIP administered by TxDOT to reconstruct and install several traffic signals at high accident intersections in the city of Dallas. Upgrades will include removal of existing traffic signals and replacing them with new traffic signals; pedestrian and Americans with Disabilities Act related improvements; and other related construction.
The City is responsible for certain administrative fees. TxDOT is responsible for design of the traffic signals, bidding the construction package,100 percent construction costs for on-system intersections, construction engineering, and project administration. The current item is for four of the 71 high accident intersections awarded in 2015-2016.
The current item is for four TxDOT Traffic Signal Improvement at four locations:
• U.S. Highway 75 and Forest Lane (2016 HSIP Award CSJ 0047-07-230), (Upgrade), (CD 10, 11)
• U.S. Highway 75 and Walnut Hill Lane (2016 HSIP Award CSJ 0047-07-234), (Upgrade), (CD 11, 13)
• State Loop 12 and Military Parkway (2016 HSIP Award CSJ 0581-01-147), (Upgrade), (CD 5, 7)
• Interstate Highway 635 and Inwood Road (2016 HSIP Award CSJ 23747-01-182), (Upgrade), (CD 11, 13)
